  1. Phew, what a busy but brilliant few weeks we’ve had!

    We’ve seen the shop go from looking like this:

    To this:

    new shop

    It sometimes felt like it was never going to happen, and it took a lot of hard work – but we did it and now it’s fabulous!

    The most exciting part of our week though was on Monday, when we worked together with Warwick Books to bring you an event with Richard Burr from last years GBBO. We had two sets of keen bakers bringing their buns to be tasted and judged. I’ve never seen such a fantastic range of delicious sweet (and savoury) treats. The bakers were given a demonstration of how to make Richards delicious Challah Rolls, had a go themselves, then we all sat down for a cup of tea and Richard gave us all the goss on the GBBO tent and contestants – and his top baking tips of course! Everyone left full and happy with their own signed copy of his brilliant BIY book!

    It was brilliant working with Warwick Books and we’re hoping to bring you similar events in the future. So watch this space!




    The kitchen is now fully open and functioning for business. We’re taking bookings for hen parties, stag dos, special birthdays, children’s parties and workshops over the next few months. If you’d like to get a group of friends together, learn a new dish or menu then all sit down together and enjoy it, get in touch! We are also in the process of putting together some great cookery classes which will be ready really soon , I’ll be sending out all the information on them over the next couple of weeks.  

  2. May and June have been super busy months for us! It seems like everyone has a summer birthday, and everyone wants a delicious birthday cake. Something we are more than happy to help with! I've had some great fun this past couple of months creating new cake flavours and ideas. At the same time getting things together for the new shop. It all seems to be taking a bit longer than we had anticipated but good things take time - and it is going to be good!

    We're very lucky to have a lovely kitchen at our other premises to use until the brand new one is up and running. So we're taking and fulfilling orders all the time. My favourite one we've done recently has to be this rainbow cake.


    It's a light and airy vanilla sponge with raspberry butter cream covered in homemade marshmallow fondant, coloured blue with white running through to create a cloud effect. Then more coloured fondant to create the rainbow and more lovely marshmallows for the clouds.
    The best bit about it though is that when you cut it open loads of sweets pop out. I'm a sucker for anything sweet so this one was a winner for me!     Another thing I'm loving at this time of year is all the lovely yummy summer berries popping up. We made this summer berries cake for a birthday. It's full of juicy raspberries, strawberries and blueberries, and topped with whipped cream and - surprise - more berries! It's a lovely fresh tasting cake, great for those who don't like icing, or cakes that are too sweet.

    And there was this white chocolate and strawberry cake, with white chocolate icing and fresh strawberries in the pink part of the cake.

    There's almost too many to mention - so check out our cakes page to see the other ones we've done over time. There is something so satisfying about making a beautiful cake, seeing peoples faces when its brought to the table... and then the smiles as its getting devoured!
